Your donation will help the Free Verse Festival bring poets to schools and promote the written word in Charleston. Our city’s poetry scene has been thriving for a long time, but not monetarily. We need your support to put on workshops, encourage writing and nurture diverse events in Charleston. More importantly, your donation will help poets of all ages realize their worth.

All donations will be recognized on this website. Donations of more than $100 will receive a handwritten poem by Charleston poet laureate Marcus Amaker.

PARTNERSHIPS: Donations of more than $1,000 will become an official sponsor of the festival. Sponsors will receive recognition at all events, this website and all printed materials. Sponsors will also receive one original handwritten poem from Charleston poet laureate Marcus Amaker, as well as a care package of Marcus’ books and a limited-edition vinyl of Marcus’ music.
