Free Verse Poets is the brainchild of Marcus Amaker, the City of Charleston’s first poet laureate and SC Literary Hall of Fame inductee. With Free Verse, Marcus brings the Charleston, SC community together through a variety of poetry events. Free Verse hosts open mics & workshops, publishes books, & puts on a festival.
